Lagu yang berjudul fiction dalam album nightmare  adalah sebuah karya tulis 

drummer band tersebut yang direkam sendiri dan selesai 3 hari sebelum kematiannya .

Dari lirik tersebut mengisahkan kisah akhir hidupnya yang tragis ,terlahir dengan penyakit

pembesaran jantung . drummer tersebut pernah berkata kepada M.Shadows vokalis band tersebut

"mereka semua tidak akan tahu kisah hidupku" sehingga ditemukannya rekaman lagu tersebut yang 

berjudul death lalu berubah menjadi fiction .M.Shadows dan rekan Avenged masih belum bisa 

percaya kematian drummer tersebut dan pernah berkata "tidak ada The Rev,tidak ada A7x".

2 minggu selanjutnya dengan kekakuan hati mereka akhirnya mereka merekam ulang lagu tersebut 

dalam keadaan bersedih dan menangis .. drummer "James Owen Sullivan".

"Dari cerita tersebut ,kita semua bisa belajar bahwa band metal yg dikenal seram,garang

tetapi masih mempunyai hati nurani yg sangat dalam dan siapapun dan kapanpun setiap 

makhluk yang bernyawa pasti akan menemui kematian "
